Strengthening the community requires more than creative business development; non-profit and civic organizations also add vibrancy to our local economy through education, networking, arts and entertainment, and sustainable growth strategies.

Some of our key community partners include the following:

Staunton Economic Development

Recruits, develops, and supports Staunton businesses. The economic development office can provide information on local development incentives, city demographics, available property, and local business resources.

Staunton Downtown Development Association

Provides marketing, networking, and development assistance to downtown Staunton business.

Small Business Development Center

Provides free and confidential business counseling. Offices in Fishersville and Harrisonburg, VA.

Enterprise Development Group

Offers microloans to small businesses in Northern Virginia and can provide financing to start-up and expanding businesses outside of SCCF’s service area.

Service Corps of Retired Executives

Provides free and confidential business counseling nation wide. Closest Virginia offices are located in Waynesboro and Harrisonburg.

City of Harrisonburg Economic Development

Serving as an alternative to traditional loans, the City of Harrisonburg’s Business Loan Program provides access necessary funds, as many small businesses may not meet traditional loan requirements in the current economic climate.

Waynesboro Downtown Development Inc.Through the funding and support of downtown businesses, WDDI is an asset for existing small businesses and for entrepreneurs with innovative ideas looking to launch a new project.

Through strategic planning initiatives, economic development incentives, and outreach efforts to the business community, the Waynesboro Economic Development Office is here to help you start, grow, and expand your business. Our office will make your project a success through up-to-date demographic data, location assistance, and access to state and local financing options.

The Highland Center

The Highland Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to cultural and economic development in the Alleghany Highlands region of Virginia and West Virginia. They provide free business counseling to local entrepreneurs.

The Staunton Creative Community Fund incubates a variety of civic and community based initiatives that focus on education, green development, and partnership building.

Tax deductible donations may be made to the Staunton Creative Community Fund to help support the following programs:

Staunton Green 2020

Staunton Green 2020Mission: Staunton Green 2020 builds community partnerships that through education, research and collaboration: reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase renewable energy, generate green jobs, preserve green space, facilitate  sustainable community development in Staunton.

The Spiritheart Collective

Mission: The Spiritheart Collective, a group of teaching artists, provides a regular adaptive musical outreach program traveling throughout the state of Virginia using percussion and the Native American style flute to connect to challenged populations.

Friends of the Middle RiverPromotes the restoration, protection, and enjoyment of Augusta County’s largest headwaters river and its tributaries.

 

 

Staunton Creative Community Fund is proud to have awarded Staunton Fresh with a $5,000 micro-grant for best innovative idea during Ignite Staunton!
